Pre-Treatment Care Instructions

To ensure the best results and minimize any potential side effects, please follow these pre-treatment instructions:

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight and refrain from using tanning beds for at least two weeks before the treatment or until sun tan completely fades. Sun-screen is advisable when outdoors during daylight hours.
  • Discontinue Certain Skincare Products: Stop using active topical agents, such as retinoids, glycolic acid, and other potentially irritating skincare products one week prior to your appointment.
  • No Waxing or Chemical Peels: Avoid waxing, chemical peels, and other skin treatments in the area to be treated for at least one week before the procedure. If hair is present, shave the area being treated prior to their scheduled treatment.
  • Clean Skin: Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin on the day of your treatment.

Post-Treatment
Care Instructions

After your Lumecca IPL treatment, proper care is essential for optimal results:

  • Monitor skin: Mild to moderate skin redness is normal, and should subside within a few days. Sun spots may turn darker and eventually become like coffee grounds where they flake off. Avoid picking these areas. Wait 3-7 days to begin exfoliating the skin.
  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect your skin from direct sunlight and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily.
  • Gentle Skincare: Use gentle, non-irritating skincare products. Avoid retinoids, glycolic acid, and exfoliants for one week.
  • Hydrate: Keep your skin well-hydrated with regular use of a moisturizer.
  • No Hot Baths or Saunas: Avoid hot baths, saunas, and intense exercise for 48 hours post-treatment to reduce the risk of irritation.
  • Follow-Up: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor progress and address any concerns.
