WHY WE SPEAK ON THIS

Our Position on Aesthetic Safety in BC

British Columbia has limited formal regulation of who can perform cosmetic injectable procedures. Botox and dermal fillers are classified as prescription drugs under federal law, which means they can only be legally prescribed and administered by, or under the direct supervision of, a licensed prescriber. In practice, enforcement is inconsistent and the barriers to operating as an independent injector are low.

The result is a market where patients often cannot tell a qualified medical provider apart from someone who completed a weekend training course. Both may use the same products. Both may have similar looking websites. The difference becomes visible when something goes wrong.

At Promethean, every injectable treatment is performed by Parveen Sangha, NP, Dr. Sara Zeinoddini, Dina Wang, RN, or Natasha Errico, under medical oversight. We prescribe our own products, and we are accountable to the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.

We do not operate in a grey area, because our patients should never have to wonder whether they are in one.
