THE CONCERN
When Sun Spots and Redness Keep Showing Through Makeup
Years of sun exposure leave visible traces: brown spots that concealer cannot fully hide, broken capillaries, and a general redness that reads as irritated even on a calm day.
The hesitation we hear most is about the promise, not the concern: a laser marketed as one and done, or offered to skin tones where it genuinely is not the safest option. That worry is reasonable, and it is exactly why skin typing comes before any treatment plan.
Matched carefully to your skin, Lumecca Peak’s intense pulsed light targets visible pigment and small vessels, letting the body clear them over the following weeks.
No urgency here.
The right treatment can wait for the right reasons. If this is not your best option, we will say so.
PATIENT TRUST

Five Star Google Reviews, Rated 5.0 Overall
She actually turned me away from a treatment I had already booked elsewhere once she saw my skin tone, and explained why. That honesty is why I stayed for everything else.

THE TREATMENT
How Lumecca Peak IPL Works
Intense pulsed light is absorbed by pigment and by blood in small vessels near the skin’s surface. The treated pigment darkens and the vessels close, and the body clears both over the following days and weeks.
At Promethean, settings are matched to your Fitzpatrick skin type. Darker skin tones and active melasma are assessed carefully, since IPL carries a higher risk of pigment change in those cases, and we will say so honestly rather than treat everyone the same way.
Spots often look darker for about a week before flaking away, and redness fades gradually over a series of two to three sessions spaced weeks apart. Individual results vary, and we will tell you honestly what to expect for your skin.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE
What to Expect, and Who It Is For
What to Expect
- Consultation and skin typing. An honest assessment of your skin tone and concern, and whether Lumecca Peak IPL is the safest, most effective option for you.
- Protective preparation. Cooling gel and protective eyewear are used throughout.
- The treatment. About 20 to 30 minutes, with a sensation often described as a light rubber band snap.
- Right after. Treated spots look darker for about a week before flaking off. Mild redness for a few hours is common.
- The series. Two to three sessions spaced several weeks apart is typical for redness and broader pigment concerns.
Who It Is For, Honestly
Good candidates have sun damage, brown spots, redness, or visible small vessels, and fall primarily in lighter to medium skin tones where IPL carries the lowest risk.
- We do not treat recent tans or recent significant sun exposure.
- We do not treat during pregnancy, or in patients on certain photosensitizing medications.
- We will decline treatment on very dark skin tones or active melasma where the risk of pigment change outweighs the benefit, and we will recommend a better suited alternative instead.
If it is not right for you, we will say so, and we will tell you what would serve you better, even when that is nothing at all.
NATURAL RESULTS
Results That Still Look Like You
Natural results come from restraint: the lightest treatment that achieves the goal, and the discipline to stop there. Before anything is booked, we show you honestly what is achievable for your anatomy, and how results are likely to vary for you.
Beauty as a Spectrum is how we practice: every decade from the thirties onward, every skin tone, every style, held to the same standard. You, rested and well, never done. Individual results vary.
Consented patient photography is in preparation. We publish real, unretouched results only, with written permission, and never sensationalized transformations. Individual results vary.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Lumecca Peak IPL Questions, Answered
Straight answers, the same ones you would get in the treatment room.
- What does Lumecca Peak IPL cost in Vancouver?
- Lumecca Peak IPL is priced per session, and cost depends on the area treated and the number of sessions recommended for your skin. You receive a written quote at your consultation, before anything is booked. We do not sell packages, and no one here earns commission on your plan.
- Do you offer payment plans or financing for Lumecca Peak IPL?
- Your full cost is confirmed in writing at your consultation, and payment options are discussed with you at that time. We do not want you deciding on a treatment before you have seen the real number in writing.
- What happens at the Lumecca Peak IPL consultation, and how long does it take?
- Your consultation includes an honest skin typing assessment, since Fitzpatrick skin type determines whether IPL is the safest option for you. We review your concern and give you a written plan and cost. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and there is no obligation to book that day.
- How do I know if Lumecca Peak IPL is right for me?
- Lumecca Peak IPL suits sun damage, brown spots, redness, or visible small vessels in lighter to medium skin tones, where it carries the lowest risk. For very dark skin tones or active melasma, the risk of pigment change is higher, and we will tell you honestly if another treatment is better suited to you rather than treat everyone the same way.
- What is your rescheduling or cancellation policy for Lumecca Peak IPL appointments?
- We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel, ideally at least 24 hours. Exact terms are confirmed with you at booking. Recent tanning or sun exposure can also affect timing, so tell us if that has changed before your appointment.
- How many Lumecca Peak IPL sessions will I need, and what is the downtime?
- Two to three sessions spaced several weeks apart is typical for redness and broader pigment concerns, though a single session can address isolated spots. Treated spots look darker for about a week before flaking away, with mild redness for a few hours. Individual results vary, and we plan your specific course at consultation.
