PRP Vampire Facial in Vancouver

PRP vampire facials are becoming hottest facial treatment in Vancouver.

Platelet Rich Plasma Skin Rejuvenation

PRP facials use your own blood to rejuvenate your skin. Sounds strange. Works remarkably well. The science is solid and the results speak for themselves.

At Promethean Clinic, our Medical Director Parveen Sangha brings seven years of family medicine experience and previously served as Medical Director for Vancouver Coastal Health programs. She currently holds the position of President of the NP Council for the Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC. Our team of Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Registered Nurses performs all PRP treatments using medical-grade processing and sterile technique.

We’ve been delivering PRP facials since the treatment gained traction in aesthetic medicine. The technology has improved significantly, and so have our results.

Key Benefits of PRP Facial Treatment

PRP facials deliver multiple improvements that build over time.

Stimulates collagen production: The growth factors in PRP signal your fibroblasts to produce new collagen. This is actual collagen synthesis, not temporary filler. Results improve over months as new collagen forms.

Improves skin texture and tone: Reduces the appearance of acne scars, large pores, and rough texture. Your skin becomes smoother and more even in tone.

Reduces fine lines and wrinkles: Particularly effective for crepey skin around the eyes and subtle lines that don’t respond well to neurotoxins.

Enhances overall skin quality: Improves skin thickness, elasticity, and hydration. Your skin looks healthier because it is healthier at a cellular level.

Uses your own biology: No synthetic substances or foreign materials. Just your concentrated platelets and growth factors. This eliminates allergy risk and works with your body’s natural healing processes.

Minimal downtime: Expect redness for 24 to 48 hours, similar to a sunburn. Most people return to work the next day wearing makeup to cover any residual pinkness.

Long-lasting results: Improvements continue developing for months after treatment as new collagen matures. Results can last a year or longer with proper skincare.

What PRP Facial Treatment Actually Does

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Your blood contains platelets that release growth factors when activated. These growth factors stimulate healing, tissue regeneration, and collagen production.

Here’s the process. We draw a small amount of your blood, similar to routine lab work. That blood goes into a centrifuge that spins at high speed, separating the platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells and other components. The concentrated PRP contains 3 to 5 times more platelets than normal blood.

We then apply this concentrated PRP to your skin, usually combined with microneedling. The microneedling creates thousands of microscopic channels in your skin. This serves two purposes. It triggers your skin’s healing response, and it allows the PRP to penetrate deeper where it can work more effectively.

Your skin responds to both the mechanical injury from microneedling and the growth factors in PRP by producing new collagen, improving texture, and regenerating healthier skin cells.

Common Treatment Areas

We typically treat the entire face with PRP, but certain areas respond particularly well.

Under eyes: Reduces dark circles, improves crepey texture, and diminishes fine lines. This delicate area responds exceptionally well to PRP’s regenerative properties.

Cheeks: Improves skin quality and addresses acne scarring or texture issues.

Forehead: Smooths fine lines and improves overall skin texture.

Neck and décolletage: Areas that show aging but are difficult to treat with other methods. PRP improves skin quality and texture significantly.

Acne scars: PRP combined with microneedling is highly effective for improving atrophic acne scarring by stimulating collagen remodeling.

Read through our frequently asked questions

What is PRP skin rejuvenation?

PRP skin rejuvenation uses concentrated platelets and growth factors from your own blood to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and promote cellular regeneration. It’s typically combined with microneedling for enhanced penetration and results.

How does PRP improve skin appearance?

The growth factors in PRP stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. This improves skin thickness, texture, elasticity, and overall quality through actual tissue regeneration.

Is PRP treatment safe?

Yes, when performed by qualified medical professionals using proper blood handling protocols. Since PRP uses your own blood, there’s minimal risk of allergic reactions. Our team includes Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Registered Nurses trained in sterile blood processing techniques.

How many sessions are required?

Most people benefit from 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments once or twice yearly help sustain results.

When will I see results?

Initial improvements appear within 2 to 4 weeks. Progressive enhancement continues for 3 to 6 months as new collagen develops and matures.

Is there any downtime after PRP treatment?

Expect redness and swelling for 24 to 48 hours. Most people can return to work the next day with mineral makeup covering residual pinkness. Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours.

Are there any side effects?

Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, and minor bruising. Skin may peel or flake for several days as it heals. These effects are part of the normal healing process.

Can PRP be combined with other skin treatments?

Yes. PRP works well with radiofrequency microneedling, laser treatments, and other regenerative procedures when properly spaced and sequenced.

Who is a good candidate for PRP skin rejuvenation?

Ideal candidates want to improve skin texture, tone, and quality through regenerative treatment. People with acne scarring, sun damage, or early signs of aging typically see excellent results.

What safety protocols does Promethean Clinic follow?

We use medical-grade PRP processing systems, maintain strict sterile blood handling protocols, and perform treatments in a facility designed for medical procedures. Parveen Sangha oversees all clinical operations as Medical Director.

How Treatment Works

Your first appointment begins with consultation and blood draw. We take about 10 to 20 ml of blood, similar to routine blood work. While we process your blood in the centrifuge, we prepare your skin.

We clean your face thoroughly and apply topical numbing cream. This sits for 20 to 30 minutes while your PRP is being prepared. The centrifuge separates your blood into layers. We extract the platelet-rich plasma layer, which contains the concentrated growth factors.

Once your skin is numb, we perform microneedling across the treatment areas. The depth varies depending on the area and concern being treated. Deeper needling for scarring. Shallower for general rejuvenation.

As we microneedle, we apply your PRP to the skin. The microneedling channels allow maximum penetration. The entire treatment takes about 60 to 90 minutes from start to finish.

Expected Timeline and Results

Immediately after: Your face will be red and slightly swollen. You might have some pinpoint bleeding. This is normal and expected.

Days 1 to 3: Redness fades to a pinkish tone. Skin may feel tight or dry as it heals. Light makeup can usually cover residual pinkness by day 2.

Days 4 to 7: Skin may flake or peel as the damaged outer layer sheds. This reveals fresher skin underneath.

Weeks 2 to 4: Early improvements in skin texture and tone become noticeable. The real changes are happening beneath the surface as collagen production ramps up.

Months 1 to 3: Progressive improvement continues. New collagen matures, skin texture refines, and overall quality improves noticeably.

Months 3 to 6: Maximum results appear as collagen remodeling completes. Many people schedule a second treatment around this time to enhance and maintain results.

Most practitioners recommend a series of 2 to 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for optimal results.

PRP Facial Treatment Near You

PRP quality depends heavily on processing technique and equipment. Not all centrifuges are created equal. Some produce better platelet concentration than others.

Look for providers who:

  • Use medical-grade centrifuges designed specifically for PRP preparation
  • Follow sterile blood handling protocols
  • Have experience combining PRP with advanced microneedling techniques
  • Understand facial anatomy and appropriate treatment depths
  • Use FDA-cleared or Health Canada approved PRP systems

Our downtown Vancouver clinic at 1111 W Georgia St uses professional-grade PRP processing equipment and maintains strict sterile protocols for all blood handling procedures.

Who Makes a Good Candidate

Good PRP facial candidates include people with:

  • Mild to moderate signs of aging
  • Acne scarring or textural concerns
  • Sun damage or uneven skin tone
  • Loss of skin elasticity or thickness
  • Interest in preventive anti-aging treatments

Poor candidates include those who:

PRP Facial Vancouver: Cost and Investment

PRP facial treatments in Vancouver typically range from $600 to $900 per session. Package pricing for multiple sessions often reduces per-treatment cost.

Factors affecting price:

  • PRP processing system and equipment quality
  • Combination with advanced microneedling devices
  • Treatment areas covered
  • Number of sessions in package

Consider this an investment in actual skin improvement rather than temporary enhancement. The collagen you stimulate is real tissue regeneration, not filler that dissolves after months.

Combining PRP with Other Treatments

PRP works synergistically with several other procedures. Many practitioners combine it with radiofrequency microneedling devices for enhanced results. The RF energy adds heat-based collagen stimulation to the biological growth factors from PRP.

Some people alternate between PRP sessions and laser treatments for comprehensive skin rejuvenation addressing multiple concerns.

However, avoid scheduling multiple aggressive treatments too close together. Your skin needs time to heal and regenerate between procedures.
