THE TREATMENT
How Radiesse Works
Radiesse is a filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. It provides immediate volume and structural support on injection, and the microspheres also stimulate your body to produce its own collagen over the following months, extending and reinforcing the result.
At Promethean, Radiesse is used most often for the jawline, cheeks, and hands, areas where structural lift matters as much as softness. We start with a conservative volume and reassess before adding more, since firm structural support is easier to build on than to remove.
The gel carrier gives an immediate result that settles over about two weeks, with the added collagen response continuing to build for several months. Results typically last twelve to eighteen months. Individual results vary, and we will tell you honestly whether Radiesse or a softer filler fits your goal.

What to Expect
- Consultation and assessment. A review of the structural support you have lost and whether Radiesse is genuinely the right tool for the area, versus a softer alternative.
- A written plan. The areas, the estimated volume, and the cost, quoted in writing before anything is injected.
- The treatment. About 30 to 45 minutes, with a topical numbing cream applied first for comfort.
- Right after. Some firmness and mild swelling are normal in the first days as the gel carrier settles. Most patients return to normal activities the same day, avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- The follow up. A two to three week review to assess the settled result, with any conservative addition only if it genuinely improves the outcome.
