THE CONCERN

When Skin Has Started to Sag, Not Just Lose Volume

At a certain point, the concern stops being flatness or lines and becomes looseness: along the jawline, the cheeks, the brow. Filler can restore volume, but it cannot always lift tissue that has genuinely begun to sag.

The hesitation we hear most is about how far a non surgical option can really go, and whether a thread lift will look artificial, pulled, or simply disappear within weeks. Those are fair questions. Thread lifts have real limits, and we would rather tell you that upfront than oversell the result.

Done conservatively, on the right candidate, a thread lift gives a subtle repositioning of sagging tissue plus a longer term collagen response, without an incision or a recovery room.

Five Star Google Reviews, Rated 5.0 Overall

A friend recommended Parveen’s clinic for a touch up and I couldn’t be happier with the service + results. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly, professional, and most importantly… knowledgeable. I am extremely picky (as we all should be!) when it comes to facial aesthetics and Parveen understood my vision.

THE TREATMENT

How Thread Lifts Work

A thread lift uses fine, dissolvable sutures, made of a material called PDO (polydioxanone), inserted beneath the skin along the areas of laxity. Small cones or barbs on the threads grip the tissue and gently reposition it, providing an immediate, subtle lift.

Beyond the mechanical lift, the threads also stimulate collagen production in the surrounding tissue as they dissolve over the following months, adding a firming effect that continues after the thread itself is gone. At Promethean, we place threads conservatively along the jawline, cheeks, or brow depending on where sagging is genuinely present, rather than treating every area at once.

The immediate lift is visible right away, with some settling over the first two weeks. The added collagen response continues to build for a few months. Results typically last twelve to eighteen months. Individual results vary, and we will tell you honestly whether your degree of sagging is a good match for threads or would be better served by surgery.

HOW WE PRACTICE

The Promethean Standard, Applied

The same four disciplines govern every treatment we offer, including this one. This is what medically led means in practice.

You leave knowing what is realistic for you.

    Plan

A written plan for your treatment: dosing or settings, timing, cost, and what it will and will not change. Nothing added that does not serve the outcome.

You know exactly what to expect, and why.

Conservative technique from our nurse practitioner led, physician supported medical team, in our purpose built clinic at 1111 West Georgia Street.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

What to Expect, and Who It Is For

What to Expect

  1. Consultation and assessment. A review of where your skin has genuinely lost tension, and an honest opinion on whether a thread lift will meet your expectations or whether surgery is the more appropriate option.
  2. A written plan. The number and placement of threads, and the cost, quoted in writing before the procedure.
  3. The treatment. About 45 to 60 minutes, performed under local anesthetic. Threads are inserted through small entry points, no incisions.
  4. Right after. Mild swelling, tenderness, or a pulling sensation is normal for the first week as tissue adjusts around the threads. Most patients return to work within a few days, avoiding wide jaw movements and strenuous exercise for two weeks.
  5. The follow up. A two to three week review to assess the settled lift, with attention to symmetry and comfort.

Who It Is For, Honestly

Good candidates are patients with mild to moderate skin laxity, typically in their late thirties through fifties, who want a subtle lift without surgery and understand the result is temporary rather than permanent.

  • We do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • We do not recommend thread lifts for significant sagging; that degree of laxity is honestly better served by a surgical lift, and we will say so.
  • We will decline a plan built on expecting a surgical level result from a non surgical treatment.

If it is not right for you, we will say so, and we will tell you what would serve you better, even when that is nothing at all.

NATURAL RESULTS

Results That Still Look Like You

Natural results come from restraint: the lightest treatment that achieves the goal, and the discipline to stop there. Before anything is booked, we show you honestly what is achievable for your anatomy, and how results are likely to vary for you.

Beauty as a Spectrum is how we practice: every decade from the thirties onward, every skin tone, every style, held to the same standard. You, rested and well, never done. Individual results vary.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Thread Lifts Questions, Answered

Straight answers, the same ones you would get in the treatment room.

What does a thread lift cost in Vancouver?
Pricing depends on the number of threads and areas treated. You receive an exact written quote at your consultation, based on your specific degree of laxity, before anything is scheduled. We do not sell packages, and no one here earns commission on your plan.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?
We go over the full cost in writing at your consultation, before any threads are scheduled. If a payment plan or financing option would help, we are happy to discuss what is available at that time, with no obligation to decide on the spot.

What happens at the consultation, and how long does it take?
Your consultation is a medical assessment, not a sales meeting. We review where your skin has genuinely lost tension, discuss honestly whether a thread lift will meet your expectations or whether surgery is the more appropriate option, and give you a straight answer either way. It typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, with no obligation to book anything afterward.

Am I a good candidate for a thread lift?
Good candidates have mild to moderate sagging, most often in their late thirties through fifties. If your skin laxity is more significant, we will tell you honestly that a surgical lift will likely serve you better than threads.

What is your rescheduling or cancellation policy?
We ask that you let us know as early as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel, so we can offer the appointment to another patient. Exact notice windows are confirmed when you book, and we are always straightforward if you ask.

What is recovery like after a thread lift, and when can I return to normal activity?
Mild swelling, tenderness, or a pulling sensation is normal for the first week as the tissue adjusts around the threads. Most patients return to work within a few days, though we ask you to avoid wide jaw movements and strenuous exercise for two weeks while everything settles.

What can actually go wrong with a thread lift?
The honest list: puckering or dimpling of the skin where a thread has been tensioned, a thread that can be felt or occasionally seen under thin skin, asymmetry between the two sides, and rarely a thread working its way toward the surface. Bruising and a pulling sensation for the first week or two are normal rather than complications. Most of the cosmetic issues settle or can be corrected, but you should know they exist before you book.
Is this a replacement for a facelift?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. A thread lift repositions soft tissue by a modest amount and adds some collagen along the thread path. It suits someone with early laxity who wants a subtle lift with no general anaesthetic and no long recovery. If you have significant sagging and loose skin, a thread lift will underdeliver, you will have paid for it, and the right answer is a surgical consultation instead.
How long does it last, and what happens when the threads dissolve?
The threads themselves are absorbed over several months. The lift generally holds somewhere around twelve to eighteen months, because the collagen laid down along the thread path outlives the thread. When it fades, the tissue returns toward where it started rather than dropping lower than before. Nothing collapses when a thread dissolves.
