MIC Injections in Vancouver, Methionine, Inositol and Choline
MIC injections in Vancouver combine methionine, inositol and choline, and this page explains what each one is for rather than repeating the fat burning label they are usually sold under. Administered by a registered nurse under nurse practitioner oversight.

THE CONCERN
MIC Is Usually Sold as a Fat Burning Shot. That Is Not What It Is.
MIC is marketed almost everywhere as a slimming injection, often bundled into weight loss packages and priced accordingly. The label has become so attached to the product that most people asking for it could not say what the three letters stand for.
They stand for methionine, inositol and choline. The grouping is described as lipotropic, meaning related to fat metabolism, and that word is where the marketing gets its licence. Lipotropic describes a role in how the body handles fat, particularly in the liver. It does not mean an injection removes fat from your body.
We offer MIC and we will explain each component honestly. What we will not do is attach a weight outcome to it, because that claim is not supported and is not permitted for a product used this way in Canada.
No urgency here.
If weight is the goal, you deserve a real conversation about it, not an injection with a nickname.

Recently went for IV therapy after a bout of sickness. The clinic space is beautiful and Parveen was incredibly helpful. The treatment worked great too, I was feeling brand new the next day!
THE TREATMENT
What Each of the Three Components Actually Is
Methionine is an essential amino acid, meaning your body cannot make it and must obtain it from protein in your diet. It contributes methyl groups to a wide range of reactions and is a starting point for other compounds the body builds, including carnitine.
Inositol is a carbohydrate compound, closely related to glucose, that forms part of cell membranes and acts in the signalling systems cells use to respond to hormones such as insulin. It is made in the body and also comes from food.
Choline is an essential nutrient involved in building cell membranes, in producing the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and in transporting fat out of the liver. That last role is the origin of the lipotropic description, and it is a real biological function, not a slimming mechanism.
Together they support normal metabolic handling of fat, particularly hepatic fat transport. Whether that has a role in your plan is a clinical question. Most infusions run 30 to 60 minutes in our dedicated IV lounge, administered by a registered nurse under the clinical oversight of nurse practitioner Parveen Sangha.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE
What to Expect, and Who It Is For
What to Expect
- Consultation and assessment. A review of your health history, medications and goals, and an honest answer about what MIC will and will not do.
- A written plan. The formulation and the full cost, confirmed before your line goes in, with no package pricing.
- The infusion. 30 to 60 minutes seated in our dedicated IV lounge, monitored throughout by your registered nurse.
- Right after. Most patients return to their day immediately. Mild bruising at the site can occur and settles within days.
- Ongoing plan. Reviewed against a defined goal at each visit rather than sold as a course.
Who It Is For, Honestly
MIC is discussed as one part of a wider plan for adults who want to understand what they are receiving. It is a poor fit for anyone expecting an injection to substitute for the things that actually change body composition.
- We will not sell it as a weight loss treatment or bundle it into a slimming package, because the claim is unsupported and is restricted in Canada.
- Tell us about liver or kidney disease, and about any condition affecting methionine handling, since methionine is not appropriate for everyone.
- We do not treat during pregnancy without medical sign off.
You will leave knowing exactly what was in the bag and what it was reasonable to expect from it.
COMMON QUESTIONS
MIC Injection Questions, Answered
Straight answers, the same ones you would get in the treatment room.
- What does MIC stand for?
- Methionine, inositol and choline. Methionine is an essential amino acid, inositol is a carbohydrate compound involved in cell signalling, and choline is an essential nutrient with roles in cell membranes, in the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and in moving fat out of the liver.
- Is MIC a weight loss injection?
- No, and we will not present it as one. The three components are called lipotropic because they participate in how the body handles fat, particularly in the liver. That is a description of a biological role, not evidence that an injection reduces body fat. Weight loss claims for products used this way are also restricted in Canada.
- What does lipotropic actually mean?
- It means relating to fat metabolism, and it refers specifically to the movement and processing of fat in the liver. The word entered marketing because it sounds like fat removal. In physiology it describes transport and handling, which is a different thing entirely.
- Who should not have MIC?
- Methionine is not appropriate for everyone, so liver disease, kidney disease and any condition affecting methionine metabolism need to be discussed before it is considered. We also require medical sign off during pregnancy. Your assessment exists to catch this before anything is booked.
- What does a MIC boost cost in Vancouver?
- Cost depends on the full formulation, since no two plans use the same combination of fluids, vitamins and boosters. You receive an exact written quote at your consultation, before anything is booked, with no packages and no commission on your plan.
- Who administers the infusion, and how long does it take?
- Your formulation is planned by our clinical team from your assessment, then administered by a registered nurse, under the clinical oversight of nurse practitioner Parveen Sangha, in our dedicated IV lounge. Most infusions run 30 to 60 minutes, seated and monitored throughout.
