Botox Vancouver: Neurotoxin Injections for Wrinkle Reduction
Botox injections in Vancouver at Promethean Clinic are administered by Parveen Sangha, a Nurse Practitioner with prescribing authority and seven years of family medicine behind her. Not a technician. Not a student doing a weekend course. A licensed primary care provider, that was featured on CBC News, who can prescribe the drug herself and manage any complication that follows.
That matters more than most people realise until something goes wrong.
Thousands of Vancouverites get neurotoxin injections every year. Most have a fine experience. Some do not. The difference almost always comes down to who performed the treatment and whether that person had the clinical training to read the face, calculate the dose, and know when to stop.
What neurotoxins actually do
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all botulinum toxin type A. They temporarily block the signal between a nerve ending and a muscle. The muscle stops contracting. The skin above it stops creasing. The result is a softer, smoother appearance in the treated area.
This is not volume. That is what fillers do. Neurotoxins are about relaxing the muscles that create expression lines. Understanding that difference is the starting point for any honest injectable consultation.
Results take three to five days to appear and are fully visible at two weeks. They last three to four months on average. Some patients metabolise them faster. Some slower. Your result at two weeks tells you a lot about how your body responds.
What we treat with neurotoxins at Promethean
The most commonly treated areas are the horizontal forehead lines, the vertical frown lines between the brows (the 11s), and the crow’s feet at the outer eye corners. Those three areas cover the majority of what patients come in for.
Beyond the basics: bunny lines on the nose, lip lines and lip flip, chin dimpling, jawline slimming with masseter reduction, neck bands (Nefertiti lift), brow lifting and shaping, gummy smile reduction, and hyperhidrosis treatment for excessive sweating in the underarms, palms, or scalp.
Not every area is appropriate for every patient. Your facial anatomy determines a lot. Muscle thickness, movement patterns, brow position, and existing asymmetries all factor into where and how much product goes where. This is not a template situation.
What happens at your Botox appointment
Step 1: Consultation
New patients start with a consultation. Parveen reviews your medical history, your injectable history, and your goals. She assesses your facial anatomy and discusses what is achievable and what a conservative outcome looks like for your specific face.
Step 2: Treatment planning
Doses and placement are mapped before any injection begins. You will know what areas are being treated and approximately how much product is being used.
Step 3: Injections
The appointment itself takes 15 to 30 minutes. Your skin is cleaned. A very fine needle is used at each injection point. Most patients describe it as a minor pinch. No numbing cream is needed in most cases. You can return to work immediately after.
Step 4: Two-week follow-up
Pre-treatment instructions
Post-treatment instructions
Do not touch, rub, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours. Stay upright for four hours after treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot yoga, and excessive heat for 24 hours. Do not have facials, massages, or other skin treatments for two weeks. If you notice unusual asymmetry, drooping, or anything that does not seem right after two weeks, contact us directly.

have a question?
Common questions about Botox in Vancouver
Does Botox hurt?
Most patients describe it as a brief pinch at each injection point. The needles used for neurotoxin injections are very fine. Forehead and crow’s feet areas are generally very comfortable. The frown line area can be slightly more sensitive. The whole thing is over in minutes.
How much does Botox cost in Vancouver?
Botox at Promethean is priced per unit. The number of units depends on the areas treated and your muscle mass. A typical forehead and frown line treatment uses 20 to 40 units. Crow’s feet add another 12 to 24. We give you a specific quote at consultation so there are no surprises.
How long does Botox last?
Three to four months for most patients on their first few treatments. Some patients find their results last longer over time as treated muscles become less active with consistent treatment. Athletes and people who are very expressive tend to metabolise it faster.
Is it safe to get Botox while breastfeeding?
We do not perform neurotoxin injections during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. This is not a situation where we make exceptions based on patient preference. Parveen will discuss the timeline and when it is safe to resume treatment.
What if my Botox does not look right?
Come back. The two-week follow-up exists exactly for this. If there is asymmetry, uneven result, or anything that does not feel right, Parveen assesses it in person and addresses it. We do not direct patients to message us photos and hope for the best.
Can I get Botox and fillers at the same appointment?
Yes. Many patients also get dermal fillers in the same visit. The order and combination are discussed at consultation and planned around your specific goals and the areas being treated.
