THE TREATMENT
How Dermal Fillers Work
Dermal fillers are gel formulations of hyaluronic acid, a substance your skin already produces, injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume and support facial structure. They can lift cheeks, soften nasolabial folds, refine the jawline, or add subtle definition to lips.
At Promethean, filler placement is mapped to your bone structure and the specific areas where you have lost volume, not to a standard, symmetrical template. We inject conservatively in stages: a subtle result can always be built on, but overfilled tissue takes months to settle and cannot be immediately undone (hyaluronidase can reverse hyaluronic acid filler if ever needed).
Results are visible immediately, with any swelling settling over one to two weeks. Depending on the product and the area treated, results typically last nine to eighteen months. Individual results vary, and we will tell you honestly what amount of filler your face actually needs.

What to Expect, and Who It Is For
What to Expect
- Consultation and assessment. A review of your facial structure, your goals, and where volume loss is actually occurring, with an honest opinion on whether filler is the right tool.
- A written plan. The exact areas, the product, the estimated volume, and the cost, quoted in writing before anything is injected.
- The treatment. Thirty to forty five minutes depending on the areas treated. A topical numbing cream is applied first for comfort.
- Right after. Mild swelling or bruising is normal and usually settles within a week. You can return to most normal activities the same day, avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- The follow up. A two to three week review to assess the settled result, with any conservative refinement only if it genuinely improves the outcome.

Good candidates are healthy adults who have lost volume through aging or genetics, want to look like a rested version of themselves, and are comfortable with a result that is maintained periodically rather than permanent.
