THE SITUATION
She Came In With Six Photographs on Her Phone
Patients often apologise for bringing pictures, as though it marks them out as difficult. It is close to the opposite. The word natural means something completely different to every person who says it, and a photograph converts an unusable adjective into something specific enough to work from. Somebody who arrives with references has done half of the consultation before sitting down.
The difficulty is never the photographs. It is what people expect them to carry. An image shows a result achieved on somebody else, on their bone structure, with their tissue thickness, their starting volume and their lighting. What transfers is the intention. What does not transfer is the anatomy.
No urgency here.
Bring the photographs. Just know what they can and cannot tell us.

Recently went for IV therapy after a bout of sickness. The clinic space is beautiful and Parveen was incredibly helpful. The treatment worked great too, I was feeling brand new the next day!
WHAT WE DID
What a Photograph Can and Cannot Transfer
What comes across usefully is proportion, shape preference, and above all scale. Six images make it obvious whether somebody wants a subtle change or a dramatic one, and where their line is for too much. That is genuinely difficult to establish in conversation and immediate on a screen.
What does not come across is everything structural. Your bone support, the thickness of your tissue, the volume you already have and the way your face moves all decide what is achievable and what would look wrong. Add filters, ring lighting and a flattering angle, and some reference images are showing a result that does not exist on the original person either.
So the technique matters more than the target. Product goes in small amounts rather than a syringe at a time, with a mirror between stages so you are looking at your own face as it changes rather than approving a plan in advance. Where more would be needed, it is better done across more than one appointment than chased in a single sitting.
The reason for all that caution is simple. Adding is easy at any point. Removing means dissolving, which means swelling, a deflated few days and a wait, so the conservative path is not timidity, it is the one that keeps every option open.

HOW WE PRACTICE
The Promethean Standard, Applied
The same four disciplines govern every treatment we offer, including this one. This is what medically led means in practice.
- 01
Assess
A medical assessment of your health history, your anatomy, and your goals, and an honest answer on whether this treatment is right for you at all.
You leave knowing what is realistic for you.
- 02
Plan
A written plan for your treatment: dosing or settings, timing, cost, and what it will and will not change. Nothing added that does not serve the outcome.
You know exactly what to expect, and why.
- 03
Treat
Conservative technique from our nurse practitioner led, physician supported medical team, in our purpose built clinic at 1111 West Georgia Street.
You look like yourself, rested and well.
- 04
Care
Follow up to review your result, plus wellness and longevity support under one roof, over years rather than appointments.
A clinic that knows your whole picture.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
What to Expect, and Who It Is For
What the Appointment Looks Like
- Bring the photographs, and say what you like about each one. The specific detail is more useful than the whole image.
- Your anatomy assessed against them. What is achievable, what is not, and why.
- An honest answer before anything starts. If the look needs structure you do not have, you hear it first.
- Small increments, with a mirror. You look at each stage rather than approving a plan and hoping.
- Permission to stop at any point. Including at less than you booked for.
- A review, and the option to add later. Rather than reaching for the finish line today.
Who This Applies To, and Who It Does Not
This suits anyone who knows what they want and wants to communicate it precisely, and anyone who has previously been given something they did not ask for.
- A reference of a face structurally unlike yours is a direction, not a destination, and we will be clear about the difference.
- If the image is heavily filtered or edited, the result in it may not exist on the person in it either.
- Not during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
- Tell us about any filler you have had before, what, where and when, even years ago and somewhere else. It changes the plan more than most people expect.
The aim is that you recognise yourself afterwards and cannot quite say what changed.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions People Ask in This Situation
Straight answers, the same ones you would get in the treatment room.
- Is it annoying if I bring photos?
- The opposite. Natural means something different to every person who uses the word, and a photograph makes your version of it specific in a way that conversation rarely manages. Bring several rather than one, and bring one you actively dislike if you have it, because knowing where your line is for too much is at least as useful as knowing what you want.
- What if the look I want is not achievable on me?
- You will be told before anything is injected, along with the reason, which is usually structural. Bone support, tissue thickness and the volume you are starting with decide a great deal, and no quantity of product overcomes them. Where possible you will also be told what part of the look is achievable, because it is often more than people expect once the impossible part is set aside.
- Can I see how it is going during the appointment?
- Yes, and you should. Product is placed in small amounts with a mirror between stages, so you are looking at your own face as it changes rather than waiting for a reveal. If you want to stop at any point, including well short of what was planned, that is a legitimate outcome and not an awkward one.
- Will it all be done in one appointment?
- Not necessarily, and often it should not be. Where a bigger change is wanted, building it across more than one session gives the tissue time to settle and gives you a chance to live with each stage before deciding on the next. Chasing a finished result in a single sitting is how people end up with more than they wanted.
- What if I do not like the result?
- Say so, and say it early rather than talking yourself into it. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved, which is exactly why it is the material we prefer. Dissolving is not free of consequence, it causes swelling and the area looks deflated for a few days, but the option existing at all is the point. Not every filler on the market can be reversed.
This is a composite. It describes a pattern we see often, assembled from more than one person so that no individual can be identified. No names, no images, and no personal details are used.
