THE SITUATION
He Was Not Going to Tell Anyone He Came
Botox for men is a quieter conversation than the equivalent one with women, and it usually starts in one of two ways. Either a partner suggested it, or he has looked at a photograph from a work event and been surprised by how tired the man in it looked. Almost nobody arrives wanting to look younger. They arrive wanting to stop looking exhausted in meetings where they are not.
The concern underneath it is almost always the same, and it is rarely said in the first minute: he does not want it to be obvious, he does not want to look feminine, and he does not want a smooth, shiny forehead that reads as work done. That fear is well founded, because a badly dosed man is genuinely conspicuous.
No urgency here.
The goal is not a younger face. It is the same face, not looking tired.

Recently went for IV therapy after a bout of sickness. The clinic space is beautiful and Parveen was incredibly helpful. The treatment worked great too, I was feeling brand new the next day!
WHAT WE DID
Why the Dose Usually Runs Higher for Men
Male facial anatomy differs in ways that matter to this treatment. Men generally have greater muscle mass in the forehead and between the brows, and stronger muscles need more product to soften. A dose calculated for an average woman, applied to an average man, commonly produces a result that fades in weeks and leaves him concluding the treatment does not work on him. It worked. It was underdosed.
Brow position is the other difference, and it is the one that produces the bad outcomes. The male brow sits lower and flatter than the female brow, and a plan that lifts it, which is often exactly what a woman is asking for, will feminise a man face immediately. Preserving that flatter brow line is most of the skill in treating men well.
The assessment therefore looks at the face twice: at rest, and moving. Lines that are only there when you frown behave differently from lines etched in at rest, and a first appointment is planned conservatively for a reason. It is easy to add at a review. It is a wait of months to subtract.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE
What to Expect, and Who It Is For
What the Appointment Looks Like
- Assessment at rest and in animation. You will be asked to frown, raise your brows and squint, because a still face does not show what needs treating.
- A written plan before anything happens. Areas, dose and cost in writing, with the reasoning attached.
- Conservative on the first pass. Deliberately. The first appointment establishes how your muscles respond.
- Fifteen to twenty minutes. Fine needles, a brief pinch at each point, no sedation, no recovery.
- Back to work the same day. Avoid rubbing the area and hard exercise for twenty four hours. Small bumps at the points settle within the hour.
- A two week review. This is where a first result is judged and adjusted, and it is the appointment men skip most often.
Who This Applies To, and Who It Does Not
This suits healthy adult men bothered by looking tired or severe, who want to keep their expressions and are comfortable with maintenance a few times a year.
- We do not treat certain neuromuscular conditions, or active skin concerns at the injection sites.
- If you want no movement at all, we are the wrong clinic. A forehead that cannot move is a dosing decision, and on a man it is the single most recognisable sign of treatment.
- If deep lines are etched in at rest, a neurotoxin alone will soften them rather than erase them, and you should hear that before you pay rather than after.
If a neurotoxin will not get you what you are describing, we will tell you, including when the honest answer is to do nothing.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions People Ask in This Situation
Straight answers, the same ones you would get in the treatment room.
- Will people be able to tell?
- Not if it is dosed properly, and that is the whole objective. Done well, people register that you look less tired and cannot say why, which is precisely the outcome most men are asking for. What gets noticed is the overdone version: a completely still forehead, an unnaturally arched brow, a shine where expression used to be. Those are dosing and placement errors, not the nature of the treatment.
- Will it make me look feminine?
- It should not, and preventing it is a deliberate part of the plan. The risk comes from lifting the outer brow, which creates an arch that reads as feminine on a male face. The male brow is naturally lower and flatter, and keeping it that way is a matter of where the product goes rather than how much. Say this out loud at your consultation; it is a completely reasonable thing to want.
- Do men really need more than women?
- Frequently, yes, because the muscles are typically stronger and larger. It is not a universal rule and your assessment decides it, but a man treated on a dose designed for a woman is a common reason a first experience disappoints. If a previous treatment somewhere else wore off in six weeks, underdosing is the most likely explanation.
- Does it hurt, and do I need time off?
- A brief pinch at each injection point and nothing beyond that. It takes about fifteen to twenty minutes and there is no recovery period. Avoid rubbing the area and skip the gym for twenty four hours. Most people come at lunch and go back to work.
- Why does the two week review matter so much?
- Because a neurotoxin does not reach full effect immediately. It begins working within a few days and settles at around two weeks, so two weeks is the first honest look at your result and the point where a small asymmetry can be corrected. Skipping it means judging the treatment early and living with an imbalance that would have taken minutes to fix.
This is a composite. It describes a pattern we see often, assembled from more than one person so that no individual can be identified. No names, no images, and no personal details are used.
